Fall Pottery Show

Before having our traditional Thanksgiving meal my friend Marj and I went to the pottery show at Marlin's Orchard.Rain was predicted but we were having none of it. Inside was really warm under the greenhouse roof. There was table after table of beautiful pottery done by artists from as far as Montreal.
I always enjoyed roosters and want one day to get the perfect one. This one captured my interest.
Turtles seems to be the theme this year from what I have seen today from other artists.
Every year this show is on for people to see and buy and maybe to become inspired to do the same.
What I have noticed also is the oriental influence with many artists.

Isn't this blue cheerful even with chopsticks.....Now. This artist really had an interesting idea. Take a look at her unusual and fun work.
You really have to believe in yourself and not care about what people will think of your work. This is an artist with a strong personality. I would have like to meet her. I am even thinking now of getting one of her piece.
This artist used cheerful bright colors like this beautiful blue cookie jar.
David likes this set which doesn't surprise me. He also likes oriental designs like I do.
As I mentioned earlier, turtles seems to be the favorite of many artists.
This artist really has a technique that makes her work stands out as if they are in motion.
Ready to tackle those big waves hahaha.

Unusual and fun.
What an exposure for these artists to be recognized in our area and maybe their products will be in many stores as their is always a beginning to someone's success.

Perfect Day at the Farm

A month has already gone by at the school. Our first trip this time is at Mei Le's farm. Caravan of cars again were heading on this beautiful sunny and warm morning to see animals there. Before seeing the animals, we have left the children play a little which is natural for them to do and to socialize as we also did.
Like having hot apple cider.
Then were heard in the distance the choo choo of a train. Then I asked Mei Le if I could take a picture of her with Theresa and Ella. And pose they did.
Then I spotted this friendly cat who was eating pine needles as if it was catnip. Apparently we have to watch that he doesn't come with us since he likes car rides.
And this is just after he ate a few. He must know something we don't.
Now it was time to visit the animals. The first thing I saw was this beautiful black and white llama. I was afraid to get too close as they are known to spit. Mind you I thought the fence was solid and I saw myself falling forward as he was coming. Phew!....
But I didn't tell Amber about the spitting yet - only after I took that picture. Hahaha.

Then Jack was shown how to hold this baby lamb. The pink marking on his back is to distinguish him from others as he is to be fed with a bottle. And of course this little farm has donkeys. Three of them. This one just came in to eat.
Now these llamas have a role to play from what Ian told us. They take care of the sheep. They guard them. If for instance Ian gets too close, they run after him. But not Allison apparently.

Oh oh, here he comes as he sees us getting closer. He protects the sheep against foxes and coyotes.
Now Ian was showing off this huge and friendly bull he game to Allison when they got married. This bull was a tiny baby and look at the size of him now.
The farm wouldn't be complete with of course ducks, chicken, rabbits and pigs.
Without forgetting the goats.
And now Allison on her way to feed this little one with a bottle. It lost its mother at birth. Poor little thing.

But he is at a happy little farm that is just right for him. This is a little heaven for these animals as they are all pets. It is a little farm that I would love to go back again as it is unique in style.
