Memorable Weekend
What a busy weekend we had.
First, we attended Winston's graduation Friday morning in Kingston.
The graduates were walked in with this orchestra.

Winston with his classmates.
Then we went for lunch at our usual restaurant the Pan Chancho.
It was as usual a delicious meal.
Then in this booming hot 30 degree weather, we visited two historical sites.

This round tower is the circular platform where a canon was pushed by 7 soldiers.

David being in his element, explains to Winston why this square device is for. Too bad there wasn't an audience to have learned this bit of history. Well it was a father and son time.
Then it was to Sir John A. MacDonald's house.
The study.

And the master bedroom. To show but just a few of these pictures.
Second, today is Father's Day. Here is what Dave wants for brunch. Later on before supper it will be his usual gin and tonic while reading his favorite book.
Blueberry Belgian waffles with maple syrup, fresh strawberries and coffee.
And Third, I had to run home to get my camera as this snappy turtle was in the middle of the street near the grocery store. I vowed before, when I miss an opportunity to take a picture, to always bring the camera along. Sure enough I did the same thing. From now on it will be strap around my neck - promise haha.
It went to lay its eggs at an abandon gas station. There is sand where the pumps used to be - we could see where she went. This nice man came with thick gloves to move it towards the river. He waited until I got back with my camera. Phew!!!
Osker wanting to explore this turtle at a closer look. Not a good idea..... it can turn and snap at his nose pretty quickly. This happened during our morning walk.
Will this be it for our memorable weekend?

Dear Family,
I checked Nara's blog and found your pictures of Winston's graduation- thanks Delande- it looked like a good day. I wish I could have been there to give you all hugs. Winston has grown into a handsome young man, and looks very happy. Congratulate him for me please- and you and Dave too, for raising a fine family. Do you have a new mailing address for Winston, and for Nara that you could post to me ? Hope all is well with you. More soon in a separate communication. Love, Ruth

Ah wicked!!! I loved all of these photos, everyone looks great. :) I'll be updating soon, once I find a second in this hectic life of mine! I laughed seeing Dad in his element talking about history hahah. Winston looked so cute in his tie aww :)
Ruth, I think that both Nara and Winston's email address is still the same. And Dace, what is written on the diploma is his name.
Nara, I know you were imagining Osker approaching this turtle - you were right. Dad had to hold him tightly and, I can hardly wait to read another of your blog.
